Description

Play has long been one of the most powerful ways for humans to learn! How can games help engage students, support information retention, and build community in our classrooms? Come find out and have fun with us! This winter community of practice will offer cozy vibes, lots of hot beverages and baked snacks, and a chance to explore new ways of teaching and learning. We will cover:

solo role playing games (RPGs)
collaborative RPGs
board games
escape rooms
mystery games

We will play games and explore examples of how these various types of games can be used to teach in a variety of disciplines and modalities. Facilitated by Lindsey Schuhmacher and Sarah Griffith.

Compensation

Adjunct faculty who complete the community of practice will receive a stipend of $250. Full-time faculty can submit up to 15 hours of PDUs.

This community of practice will be held in person during winter term. Days and times tbd.
